Mar Fri 2024
The 2024 International Food & Drink Exhibition was held in London, UK from March 25 to 27. Long Lingzhi runs a company in Guzhang County, Xiangxi Prefecture and is a senior tea artist. She skillfully showcased tea art at her booth while enthusiastically introducing the company’s brand tea to visitors in English.

“It’s delicious!” A foreign visitor highly praised the tea in Chinese after tasting it.

Long Lingzhi introduced that their company’s tea leaves are organic products. The tea varieties mainly include Guzhang Maojian Tea, Guzhang Black Tea, “Baiye No.1” White Tea and Xiangxi Golden Tea. The packaging boxes are printed with relevant pictures and texts of Shibadong Village in Shuanglong Town of Huayuan County as well as Niujiaoshan Village and Wengcao Village of Morong Town in Guzhang County, expressing gratitude for assistance in poverty alleviation, and good wishes for a bumper harvest and revitalization promotion.

Long Lingzhi is from Niujiaoshan Village. In recent years, the village has vigorously promoted the integrated development of tea and tourism.

In 2023, the tea sales revenue of the village was 160 million yuan, tourism revenue reached 350 million yuan, and the per capita income of the villagers exceeded 28,000 yuan. It also helped over 7,000 households in the surrounding villages to increase income.

“After the establishment of a company, we aim to produce organic tea products. Now, I make this trip with the original intentions of promoting Chinese tea culture, making Chinese tea brands famous, expanding sales channels and driving more people to become rich .” Long Lingzhi is not only the head of a company, but also a NPC member. She has a clear awareness of the responsibilities she shoulders.

Long Lingzhi introduced that there were also several other domestic tea companies participating in the exhibition. Two days before the exhibition, they also visited local brand tea chain stores, tea houses, supermarkets, etc. in the UK, and negotiated cooperation with local tea distributors.

“At present, the per capita tea consumption in the UK is relatively higher compared to that in China, and there are more people here who enjoy organic tea with a pure taste. This is a good opportunity for us, and the key is to determine the market positioning and establish sales channels.”

Long Lingzhi added that after the exhibition, some local tea distributors in the UK will come to China to inspect their company’s tea bases and products. Long Lingzhi will recommend high-quality tea in Xiangxi Prefecture and tell the story of the development of tea.
